Medicare gets all the headlines, but Ryan's budget (which the Republicans in the House passed!!!) is really terrible. Zane doesn't even go into as much detail as one could about cuts to veterans' benefits, how cutting Medicaid affects seniors, etc.
I don't know if or how long or how well I'll stick to my current format, but I'd really like to try to address political issues from an economic or empirical point-of-view, and try to leave moral (I probably use moral differently than a philosopher, so I mean "is healthcare a right or luxury?" or "should we be responsible for the common welfare?" kind of things) or emotional ("think of the children!") arguments out of my posts. If something in my article inspires you to post on the moral side of things, I'd love to read it. I'm just trying to challenge myself to come up with objective arguments to the best of my ability because I feel like that's something I'm lacking.
